What is Night to Shine? An incredible prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older.

​WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Sign up to help in one of 24 different committees  | Donate services/goods | Pray for the event, the guests, the volunteers, and everyone involved

​WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?

Anyone from 14 years old and up can help with this event.  However, if the volunteer is 14-17 years old they need to have a parent or chaperone volunteering at the event with them. If a volunteer is under the age of 18 they will need a parent to sign a permission form and waiver before they can participate. All of the youth will have still have to attend one of the mandatory training sessions. Everyone over the age of 18 will need to go through a background check before the event. Everyone who is volunteering for the event will need to attend one of these mandatory training events:

• Tuesday, January 15 | 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, January 15 | 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, January 29 | 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.

• Prom Gown Collecting
  Begin collecting donated dresses January 3
  Sunday, February 3, 2019 set-up “store”
  Monday, February 4 – Wednesday, February 7, appointments with girls
• Gift Bag Packing
  Help gather gifts and pack the bags to prepare for the dance
  Wednesday, February 6 | TBD
• Decorating Team
  Help set tables, assemble centerpieces and lighting
  Friday, February 8, 2019 | 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  *Please bring a sack lunch. Water provided.
• Floral Team
  Making corsages & boutonnieres

​EVENT VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

• Prom Guest Buddy Escort
  This is one of the most important jobs at the prom and one of our biggest needs! As an escort, you are responsible for taking a guest on your arm as you show them around prom. You'll escort them to get dinner, karaoke, get their hair done, play games, and of course, dance! It's the job of the escort to ensure that your guest has an unforgettable experience!

• Glitz and Glam
  Help ladies get ready for the dance with hair and makeup application
  Friday, February 8 | 3:30 - 8:00 p.m.
• Shoe Shine
  Help gentleman get ready for the dance with a shoe shine
  Friday, February 8 | 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.
• Activities
  Help develop, set-up and supervise activities throughout the event 
  Friday, February 8, 2019 | 5:30 - 9:30 p.m.
• Gift Bag Distribution
  Set up the gift bag station and distribute to guests
  Friday, February 8, 2019 | 5:00 - 9:30 p.m.
• Parking and Traffic Team
  Maintain parking area and direct traffic pattern at lot entrances, and help guests find check-in

• Parking Lot Greeters
